Right from the Start is an Early Education and Parenting Blog about Child Development and Self Development.
Right from the Start is for anyone with an interest in young children and/or family life. I aim to translate the principles of Early Education and Child Development and apply them to everyday life. Right from the Start also shares a personal journey to find and maintain the woman behind the mum.
About Rachel
Rachel McClary is a British Early Education Consultant,writer and mother of 3 currently living in the Seattle area. A qualified teacher with a Masters Degree in Psychology of Education, Rachel has worked in Playwork and Education as a teacher and manager, for a research project supporting young children on the autistic spectrum, and for a local authority as an advisor for Early Education and Special Educational Needs. She has observed some of the best of British Early Education and is keen to share this practice with Early Educators in the United States.
Rachel is a singer, runs parent and toddler music groups and pre-school music sessions.
Rachel enjoys writing, researching, training and speaking at public events. She provides tailor made training courses, information events for parents and consultancy for Early Education settings. Rachel writes articles and support materials, children’s fiction and poetry.
Current interests include early language and literacy development, outdoor play, supporting children with additional needs, technology to support early learning and music in the early years. She is also inspired by the Early Education Centres of Reggio Emilia.
Rachel is interested in sharing innovative early years practice and translating academic research to a mass audience. She is happy to contribute to other publications on request.
