Dinosaur Train is a new programme for children aged 3-6 that came to Nick Jnr earlier this month. Dinosaur Train is produced by the Jim Henson Company and as a huge Sesame Street and Muppets fan I had high hopes.
Each 22 minute show features two animated episodes. Based on input from paleontologists, science teachers and early childhood education experts, Dinosaur Train promotes critical thinking skills for preschoolers based on an engaging and creative curriculum.
Each episode features Buddy a T-Rex who travels with his family on the dinosaur train to find out about other dinosaurs and how they live. Dinosaurs and trains, I should think that this is most little boys idea of heaven. My 3 year old daughter and her male friend watched it together and they are suitably hooked. The animation and storylines are colourful and engaging and I learned lots about dinosaurs that I didn’t know before. If you have a young dinosaur geek I’m sure it will become a firm favourite.
